Caleb Hampton is a journalist from California. He works as an assistant editor at the newspaper Ag Alert, where he covers California agriculture. Caleb’s work has appeared in The New York Times, the Guardian and other publications. He has won feature writing awards for stories about a soccer player and about corruption in India’s public school system undercutting efforts to educate rural students. Caleb has a master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Graduate School of Journalism. He is a 2025-26 Food Systems and Public Health Fellow at the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future. He lives in Davis, California.
